Fort of Fear

Seeking to utilize an existing labyrinth of natural caves, the Ishgardian house of Dzemael began construction of their eponymous Darkhold near the end of the Sixth Astral Era, intending it to serve as a refuge for those fleeing the flames of the Dravanian Horde. When the house's digging uncovered an entrance to the void, allowing an army of voidsent into this realm, however, they immediately abandoned their plans and withdrew from the subterrane, sealing it off so that they might contain the otherworldly invaders within. Despite all this, the house is unwilling to relinquish its claim to the caves, and believes that if they can be cleared of voidsent, they might still be able to see their original plan brought to fruition.

Bosses

All-seeing Eye

The first boss in Dzemael Darkhold is the All-seeing Eye, which is an Ahriman Boss with the ability called Eyes on Me that inflicts heavy damage to all nearby players. However, players who have the Crystal Veil buff are immune to this damage, which they receive when they are near the glowing crystals. It's important to note that the effect of the crystals will fade over time, so players need to move to a new cluster of crystals when this happens. Throughout the fight, the All-seeing Eye will also spawn adds, which players should avoid their AoE attacks and eliminate them quickly. The key to attacking the All-seeing Eye is to fight it near the crystal clusters to gain the Crystal Veil buff. When the message "The power of the crystal begins to dim" appears, players should immediately move to a new cluster of crystals since the All-seeing Eye can only be attacked when it is near a cluster. The All-seeing Eye has several abilities, including Dread Gaze, which is a frontal cone AoE attack that inflicts the debuff Paralysis on all targets hit, and Cursed Gaze, which is a frontal cone AoE attack that inflicts the debuff Amnesia on all targets hit. Additionally, its ability Eyes on Me deals heavy damage to all players near the boss, but players under the effect of Crystal Veil are immune to this damage.

Taulurd

Taulurd, the second boss in Dzemael Darkhold, poses a threat with his powerful AoE cone attacks that all players should avoid. Additionally, throughout the fight, Taulurd will summon Deepvoid Slaves, who are positioned on an elevated platform and will engage in ranged attacks against the players. To counter this, players should spread out and steer clear of their Firewater attacks. The Deepvoid Slaves have two types of attacks: Firewater, which targets a random player with a circular AoE attack that can be evaded by moving out of the red circular indicator on the ground, and Boulderdash. In terms of abilities, the Deepvoid Slaves possess Straight Punch, an instant melee attack causing minimal damage, Double Smash, a frontal AoE cone attack that inflicts significant damage to its targets, and Elbow Drop, a frontal AoE cone attack dealing even more damage than Double Smash. Taulurd will begin using Elbow Drop once its HP drops below half.

Batraal

Batraal, the final boss of Dzemael Darkhold, is a powerful demon with devastating attacks. One of his attacks is an instant frontal AoE cone attack that deals heavy damage to anyone in its path. It is crucial to position only the tank in front of the boss to minimize the damage to the party. Batraal also has a long ranged AoE column attack called Desolation, which inflicts extremely high damage and can instantly kill most players. During the fight, a purple beam connects Batraal to a crystal. He marks a player with a crosshair and periodically fires Desolation at them. While connected to the crystal, Batraal is invulnerable, so it is important to destroy the crystal quickly while avoiding the Desolations. The targeted player should avoid directing the Desolations towards the rest of the party. When Batraal's HP drops to around 30% and after the third crystal is destroyed, he becomes enraged and uses Desolation more frequently. Additionally, he will spawn black pools under three players, causing them to take damage over time. Players must immediately move out of these pools as they occasionally explode, dealing high damage to anyone standing in them. It is essential to prioritize avoiding Desolation, as it can instantly kill most players. If targeted, players should refrain from pointing the Desolations at their party members. To defeat Batraal, players must also destroy the crystals that appear throughout the fight. The crystals activate in a specific pattern at set percentages of the boss's HP. The first crystal to activate is located in the alcove behind and to the left of the boss, relative to where players enter the room. The remaining crystals activate counter-clockwise, appearing near and to the left of the boss and then behind and to the right of the boss, approximately every 25% of the boss's HP. Batraal possesses several abilities, including Grim Fate, a heavy frontal attack that inflicts significant damage to a single player. He also uses Grim Cleaver, an instant ranged attack that deals moderate damage to a random player. Grim Halo is another ability that causes moderate damage to all players around Batraal. Desolation, his most dangerous attack, is a frontal AoE column that inflicts very heavy damage to anyone caught within its range.
